Thackeray, IL - Former L&N Depot

The village of Thackeray, IL in Hamilton County was named after English novelist and author, William Makepeace Thackeray, according to the The Yesterdays of Hamilton County web site. Once upon a time, a railroad depot was located there.  I detoured north of Highway 14 and grabbed a photo of the former depot location. The Evansville Western Railway has been upgrading the old L& N tracks.  One of the old rail segments that had been removed had 1954 on it.
